Comments: SOAS hold a run starting in 1846, BL starting in 1852. The title must have commenced with a second series (after the Arminian Magazine) in or close to 1822.
A monthly "Missionary Chronicle" appears throughout, containing letters from the field, printed as they arrive, as well as lists of contributors and an account of the Anniversary Meeting in the second half of the year. In January 1893 the heading "Missionary Chronicle" is dropped, but material from China appears if anything in greater quantities than ever.
there are incomplete runs of the Bible Christian Magazine (and the Arminian Magazine) at both the Cornish Studies Library, Redruth (part of the Thomas Shaw Collection) and at Wesley Methodist College, Bristol. Between them these collections cover most of the period between 1822-1827 and 1830-1907.
