Title / Description: Plan of Iron Age Jerusalem
Object Type: image - floorplan

Commentary: To the right, on the eastern hill, the origional Canaanite and Davidic nucleus with its Solomonic extension northwards are shown. To the west of the present Haram platform there developed a limited extension of uncertain size; this became merged into the city at its greatest extension during the eighth and seventh centuries, when most if not all of the western hill was also included in the walled perimeter. The exact boundaries of these extensions require further definition.
